Cala Goloritzé: Trail Guide & Booking Rules
Cala Goloritzé is a protected beach cove on the Baunei coast, famous for its 143-metre (469.2 feet) high stone needle, Monte Caroddi. Because of its fragile environment, the beach is subject to strict capacity limits and safety rules. Boats are not allowed to land on the beach; instead, they must moor outside the 300-metre (984.2 feet) exclusion zone. Most visitors access the beach on foot.

The Trail: Su Porteddu to the Beach
The hiking trail starts at the Su Porteddu parking lot on the Golgo Plateau. It is a 3.6-kilometre (2.2 miles) route with a 513-metre (1,683 feet) altitude change. The descent takes 1 to 1.5 hours, winding through ancient holm oak forests and limestone boulders. The return climb is demanding and takes about 2 hours. Pack solid trail shoes, as walking on the loose, smooth limestone stones requires sure footwork.

Entrance Fee (Eco-Tax): €6 per person municipal eco-contribution + €1 app fee (€7 total / ~$8), which includes day parking at the Su Porteddu trailhead. Camper vans pay €10 (~$11) for overnight parking.

Opening Hours: The trail is open for descent from 07:30 to 15:00. All beachgoers must walk back up and vacate the cove by 17:00.
